Grassroots Health Education Programs

NRO provides information and resources to women and their communities about healthy sexuality and reproductive options over a lifetime. We offer workshops, presentations and a resource library to assist women and their allies in learning more about their bodies, their sexuality and their reproductive health.

Workshops and presentations are a way to bring together the diverse experiences of women in our community to learn more about our health and well-being and the vast diversity of women's bodies and experiences. All of our programs are based on the philosophy that the information we need is "right here in this room." Our presenters and workshop facilitators are there to help draw the knowledge out, to empower women to learn about themselves by sharing experiences with others. We currently offer workshops on fertility awareness, cervical self-exam and a comprehensive slide presentation on women's reproductive and sexual health.
  • Menstruation and Fertility Curriculum (with downloadable files)
  • We also have other health education programs, including "Getting to Know Me: Cervical Self-Exam," "Reproductive and Sexual Health Slide Show," and "Fertility Awareness for Fun and Good Health." You can download a PDF brochure describing these programs.
  • For more information or to schedule a presentation/workshop contact our office (541) 345-5702 or email us at .
NRO's Community Resource Library is a vital part of grassroots health education. In addition to going out into the community to share information, NRO strives to create a space for the community to come and do their own research and educate themselves about the issues important to them in their daily lives. To accomplish this goal, NRO has a growing Resource Library complete with books, magazines, and internet access.
While our library is small, our vision is to someday be able to utilize it as a way to bring people together in a safe environment to educate and empower themselves and their communities about various general health and sexual heath issues. Donations of books and other informational and educational materials are welcome. To learn more about what is available or to visit our library, contact our office at 541-345-5702 or email us at .
